Grey Goose Dirty, here’s something for your next (or future) posts – I would love to hear about how much time you’re spending on online dating and what challenges do you think you’re facing (besides running into frogs)? I’d be interested to see how much time you’re spending each day writing to your prospective dates. I think looking at your previous post (Dating by Numbers) , I had a feeling you may not have given some guys a chance? Judging from your 1st-date-to-2nd-date ratio, I think it’s worth giving some guys want to go for a second date a shot, even though you may not feel the immediate chemistry. I know some guys simply don’t know how to date, because they are recently out of a long marriage or they are bad at dating for whatever other reason. I just think all of these first dates/chemistry are really superficial and you only get to see a glimpse of a person’s true self. It might be worth it to dig deeper into the guy’s character and forgive his initial dating missteps so that you could better understand him. If you don’t see what you’re looking for later on, then you can always walk away. If you mentally compartmentalize dating as a way of examining long-term compatibility, rather than “instant chemistry”, then the guys whom you feel immediate chemistry for may not be compatible with you long term. Instead of this “instant chemistry” phenomenon, perhaps you should give yourself time to examine whether the guys are capable of bringing in “chemotherapy” treatments down the road if you ever really need them…Chemistry, after all, is nothing but a feeling. It’s what your date is willing to do for you that counts.

That is interesting about those guys wanting to date 20-38. I guess I am not at that age yet to understand why, but I really don’t think the answer matters much. People are going to do what they do, and are going to want what they want. Our goal is not to control other people, right? Let’s be grateful that they’re actually listing that, and so we women shouldn’t waste time on them. And I think we should look at it as a hint: they are looking for some type of acrobatic activities rather than a true emotional connection.

That is very true.  I don’t really know him well enough to know if I really like him, so I think taking the “wait and see” approach is probably what I’ll do.
