Thanks for this really good post. Every relationship we go into is like a relationship not just with that person, but with every person they’ve ever dated and every person you’ve ever dated. Maybe that’s why it can get even harder as you get older – the baggage just keeps piling up. Still, as long as you are aware of it and you know what triggers all of your old anxieties, I do think it’s possible to acknowledge those hang ups and remind yourself that your current partner is not your last one, and try to keep your reactions in context.

    Hi SingleDatingDiva,
This is the 2nd blog of yours that I’ve read.  Based on these two blogs, you’re definitely on the right track to finding love and happiness the right way.  You’re mature enough to understand what’s best for you as a whole and for the long-term.  The journey to getting to there is the tricky part but don’t you lose faith and hope!  Finding love and happiness are indeed a journey and it is one that is filled with self-discovery.In response to this blog, I agree with everything that you’re saying.  What’s really best for anyone to do after a relationship ends is to take some time to heal and reflect.  When he or she is ready to date again, one must do their best to start with each person with a clean slate and keep the expectations to a bare minimum.  No one would get anywhere with romantic love if we don’t give it a 100% chance and trust in it because of our insecurities and expectations from past relationships.Best of luck to you,Maria
